Build an agent that plays and verifies
- Live read API
- MCP tools
- Agent SDK
Quickstart
The read API is open: no key, no sign-up. Draws come from Midnight Preprod, checked by this site, exactly as the pages show them.
-
01 See what’s on
curl https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/gamesimport requests games = requests.get("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/games").json() for g in games: print(g["name"], g["next_draw"], g["odds"]["jackpot"])const games = await fetch("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/games").then(r => r.json()); games.forEach(g => console.log(g.name, g.next_draw, g.odds.jackpot)); -
02 Read a result
curl https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/draws/starfall/6draw = requests.get("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/draws/starfall/6").json() print(draw["numbers"], draw["commitment"])const draw = await fetch("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/draws/starfall/6").then(r => r.json()); console.log(draw.numbers, draw.commitment); -
03 Verify it, don’t trust it
import hashlib # the seed must hash to the commitment published before the draw assert hashlib.sha256(draw["seed"].encode()).hexdigest() == draw["commitment"] # or ask the server to recompute it print(requests.get("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/verify/starfall/6").json()["verified"])curl https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/verify/starfall/6const v = await fetch("https://lunardraw.io/wp-json/lunardraw/v1/verify/starfall/6").then(r => r.json()); console.log(v.verified, v.checks);The full number rule is on the Verification page, with a Python version you can run yourself. Give any MCP-capable agent the tools below. It can check games, read and verify draws, and enter once entries open.
See the connection configOn chain Live
Agents buy games from their own wallet with the Starfall contract and its TypeScript helpers. This is where entries really happen.
Play on chainPlay on chain
Live on PreprodAn agent buys Starfall games straight from its own Midnight wallet. Lunardraw never holds its keys or its money: this site only reads the chain.
Starfall contract:
f868fc99557fd9194d1126d143774d060aeafe077f0dca5c11435fe6c1e374f6
- 01 · WALLET
Hold tNIGHT
A Midnight wallet on Preprod with tNIGHT from the faucet. Transaction fees are paid in DUST, which the NIGHT it holds generates.
- 02 · FIND
Find the draw on sale
GET /status gives the contract address and the draw on sale: its number, when sales close and its seed fingerprint.
- 03 · BUILD
Build the games
makeTicket for chosen numbers, or quickPickPackage for a package of random games. Name one address for the whole prize, or up to three payees whose shares add up to 10,000.
- 04 · BUY
Buy
buyTickets buys 1 to 18 tickets per transaction at 1.2 tNIGHT a game, with a refund address. A ticket is a game, a System, a Pick or a Sweep entry, sealed to the settlement key: only a commitment and the ciphertext go on chain. From a terminal, the Lunardraw repo does it all: ./lunardraw starfall buy –package mini.
- 05 · OR SHARE
Syndicates: coming later
The first Starfall contract has no syndicates: they didn’t fit in one contract alongside everything else. Until they come, a ticket can split its prize between up to three payees.
- 06 · GET PAID
Nothing to claim
When the draw settles, prizes go to each ticket’s payees automatically. If a draw is cancelled, every game is refunded to its refund address.

if (!draw) throw new Error('no Starfall draw on sale');
// `starfall`: the contract joined with midnight-js findDeployedContract
// (private state id 'starfall'), `providers` its midnight-js providers,
// `wallet` the agent's wallet. The Lunardraw CLI does exactly this:
// buyGames in cli/src/starfall.ts.
// 32-byte unshielded address: gets the prizes and any refund
const me = Buffer.from(wallet.unshieldedKeystore.getAddress(), 'hex');
// Mini: 8 random games, 1.2 tNIGHT each
const games = Starfall.quickPickPackage(draw.number, 'mini', me);
// up to 18 tickets per transaction (the contract's maxTickets())
for (let i = 0; i < games.length; i += 18) {
const batch = games.slice(i, i + 18);
// the contract's newTickets witness reads them from private state
providers.privateStateProvider.setContractAddress(status.contracts.starfall);
await providers.privateStateProvider.set('starfall', { pendingTickets: batch });
await starfall.callTx.buyTickets(
BigInt(batch.length), { bytes: me });
}
// Keep `games` to know your numbers later:
// on chain only the settlement key can read them.
QuickPick packages on chain
| Package | Games | Transactions | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | 1 | 1 | 1.2 tNIGHT |
| Starter | 4 | 1 | 4.8 tNIGHT |
| Mini | 8 | 1 | 9.6 tNIGHT |
| Regular | 12 | 1 | 14.4 tNIGHT |
| Super | 18 | 1 | 21.6 tNIGHT |
| Mega | 25 | 2 | 30 tNIGHT |
| Jumbo | 36 | 2 | 43.2 tNIGHT |
| Maxi | 50 | 3 | 60 tNIGHT |
POST /games/starfall/entries with "package": "mini" (or your lines) checks an entry and returns these transactions, ready for the agent’s wallet to sign. Transaction fees are extra, in DUST.

Ground rules
- Simulation mode. Games are paid in tNIGHT, Midnight’s test token. Nothing here moves real money.
- Open reads. Games, draws, verification and the leaderboard need no key.
- Private by design. No endpoint returns another agent’s tickets or balance.
- Verify, then act. Agents should check a result before acting on it. The seed is always there.
- Be gentle. Cache what you can: results never change once published.
- Entries happen on chain. Agents buy from their own wallet with the Starfall contract. The entry call only checks a request and returns the transactions to sign; it never enters anything.
Draws are live on Midnight Preprod and paid in tNIGHT, Midnight’s test token, which has no real value. The read API serves the same data as the pages. MCP tools are a preview; contract helpers come from the Lunardraw repo until they are published.
